Hello. So with the release of Insane Dungeons, I had the urge to unlock them. Surprisingly, all the dungeons in Dungeon 8 are actually really simple except for 8-9 and 8-10. 8-9 had me stumped for a day, but luckily a couple helpful forumers gave me some strats and I was able to clear it later that day.
8-10 on the other hand, is soooo much tougher. I made a thread about it on Tuesday I believe, and no one could show me a decent strategy. After nearly a week of painstaking testing and failure, I have finally found a working method for this madness. The best thing about this is that no Minotaur or Santa Boom is required.
So, first of all I would like to thank FlipettiFlopp for giving me an initial strat to work off of. In the end I was not able to execute it successfully, but I appreciate his kindness.
So, on to how I cleared this dungeon and why/how it works. First, the deployment area.
The guide FlipettiFlopp provided me instructed me to drop near the top, right above the Town Hall. However, after a couple days of dropping there, I realized the closely grouped stun towers stopped my pd from stacking enough. The biggest issue with this is that there is no way to freeze all three towers at once. There will always be one left unfrozen. The same goes for dropping below the Town Hall near the left-most camp.
So with these two corners out of the question, I was left between the right corner and the bottom corner. Now unlike the top and left corners, the right and bottom corners are not symmetrical. Dropping in either corner will lead to drastically different results. Do note that there is no way to freeze all 5 Magic Towers.
So, now I had to decide if I wanted to take care of that extra unfrozen Magic Tower early on, or deal with it later on during the raid. For the next few days I decided to deal with t early on and spawn at the bottom camp. I figured I would eventually get lucky and not get stunned. Boy did I underestimate 7/7/7 Magic Towers though lol. During these runs I managed a 48% which was absolutely agonizing, but after that it was clear that there was too much luck involved. So that left the right corner being the only corner I had not tried.
The issue with this was once again, that unfrozen Magic Tower. It constantly stunned my Vlad and it just became a wall my heroes just could not break. However, since there were no Magic Towers initially stunning my heroes during deployment, this drop point led to the best PD stacking.
So if you combine the fact that my PD stacked the most spawning from the right corner and my heroes dealt the most damage spawning from the bottom corner, you can come to the conclusion that a mixture of both spawning in at both corners will be the most beneficial. Now the only real issue left was the initial Magic Tower in the bottom corner. Thats where Ornithopters come in.
I will not bore you with the Ornithopter strats thought process, but goddam waiting 30min for each batch to cook was by far the bloody stupidest and most frustrating part of this challenge. Just keep in mind that I tank the initial Magic Tower with those Ornithopters.
Now about the heroes I used. The first 5 or so days of experimenting, I mainly used my SM along with my main 5. I had switched between Immortep, Thunder God, Snowzilla, and Tresntaur, but I was having the best results with SM. Using her, I was able to reach that 48%. It was only till earlier today that I decided to switch her out for Thunder God. I figured she really did not contribute much and her procs kept hitting troops.
My main 5 are Pumpkin Duke, Cupid, Druid, Vlad Dracula, and Death Knight. Once again, no Santa or Minotaur.
So after all this stuffs, I figured it just came down to luck. With my strat and my heroes, I was consistently reaching 40-45%. I knew it was just a matter of time before finally completing this dungeon.
So… How does this work?
Well, the major factors in every game mode is quite simply getting your PD to stack as many times as possible, as quickly as possible as well as keeping your heroes alive.
So, by dropping PD by himself on the right camp, he stacks the most, and by dropping heroes + Ornithopters on the bottom, they have the highest chance of survival/not getting stunned.
It still takes a LOT of luck and LOT of patience and trial, but stick to it and it’ll happen sooner or later.
